More than enough

This work aims to counter the common belief that we are not ‘enough’. It’s a vessel which is intended to be a like gift to pass on; to reassure and affirm. It is both an object to hold and which holds the receiver.

Part-funded by a Firstsite Collectors’ Group Bursary, the Enough collection was inspired by Edmund De Waal’s work ‘some winter pots’ (2020), which he described as ‘vessels to touch and hold, to pass on’. They focus on the word ‘enough’. It is a word of great power – it can be both negative and positive; it can be used as a stick to beat ourselves and others with, or it can be affirmatory; and it can be a complete sentence in one.
