This work was inspired by losing my father at the age of 14 – and with him all of the connections to half of my heritage and culture – and my beautiful friend and talented artist, Salote Koto – whose work inhabited a similar space to mine and who both challenged and supported me. He was my past; she was my future.

Past & Future: Created during a residency at the National Glass Centre funded by the Glass Society Prize 2023, the works in this collection explore what we lose when someone close to us dies. One of the two final pieces is held in the permanent collection of the National Glass Centre.
