Sculptural Slumping course with Lisa Pettibone

I have recently done two short courses to extend my skills in slumping glass with sculptor and glass artist Lisa Pettibone. The courses were funded by an artist’s bursary from a-n which covered the tuition fees, my travel and all my materials.

Lisa’s work focuses creating free-formed glass objects using gravity and a range of props, rather than commercial moulds. During course 1 we learnt to make our own props from plaster and ceramic, whilst course 2 concentrated on slumping the same piece several times to create very complex folds and curves.
